Our Panchakarma program
According to Ayurvedic science there are three different function - or energy principles which work in the human body. In a healthy body these Doshas are in harmony, while there is a misbalance in a sick person. At the beginning of the treatment the patient is examined for disadvantagely heightened doshas. The doctor can check this by taking the person’s pulse (3 finger method pulse evaluation), and through anamnesis and other tests.These Doshas are:
Vata (air) - movement and communication
Vata is in charge of all movements in the body and the alertness of the mind. It is responsible for the breathing, food intake, waste discharge and communication.The attributes of Vata are: mobile, cold, dry, rough, light and clear.
The ways of treatment in Ayurveda base on the ancient art of healing which has been practised for over 5,000 years. One can differentiate between soft treatments for the preparation of the body and the five cleansing treatments of Panchakarma that lead to the elimination of toxins. Oil massage (Abhyanga)These soft oil-massages are an important part of Ayurveda. The natural herbal oils help to fluidify the fat soluble toxins in the tissue.
Whole Body Synchronized Massage (Samvahana)Two massage therapists working in synchronized movements massage the body from top to toe. This method transports the now liquid toxins into the intestinal tract. Blocked energy and feelings, stored in the tissue of the body are set free and activated.
Thermal Massage (Rice bag massage/ Navarakizi)Here the body is tapped softly with hot rice bags. A special kind of rice grown for medical purposes only and cooked in herbal liquid is used for this treatment.
Ayurveda says that food has a great impact on the whole body. Food can be medicine. During your stay our kitchen staff prepares meals that enhance the positive effect of the treatments. You will be surprised by the tasteful variety of Ayurvedic dishes.
We will give you an individually designed post Panchakarma program for a healthy diet, so that you will be able to continue to eat well at home.
